Imagine Life Just Getting Better and Better – 40 Days to a “New Me!”
Our Lenten Journey will be based on 40 days of emailed audio recordings with the option to attend a weekly in-person class. The recordings and classes are guided by Charles Ortloff (Spiritual Director and retired pastor) and Julie Stevens (Looking Within Center Director).

Dates for optional in-person classes: Wednesdays, March 5, 12, 19, 26, April 2, 9 Times: 10:00-11:00 am – OR – 7:15-8:15 pm
Place: The Looking Within Center at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, Rochester, MN

“Life is difficult.” Those are the words of author M. Scott Peck. And he’s right. Life is difficult, we are challenged, often hurt, and sometimes overwhelmed. Soon, we begin the season of Lent – the 40 days before Easter. And we begin with a healthy dose of realism: “Life is difficult!” We may have lost some of our passion for life. But we also enter Lent with a guarded optimism. What if God really has some good news for us? What would that be like?
For these 40 days of Lent, Charles and Julie will share five minute daily recordings about life and what Christ’s presence might mean for each of us as we consider the possibilities of “a new
me.” Touching on scenarios from the first and second halves of life, and from that tricky transition between the two – that proverbial midlife crisis – they’ll share with us the difficulties of life that come when we are too focused on our own agendas. And then, they’ll help us reconsider what it might mean that Christ is with us always. As one poet has put it, “Grow old along with me, the best is yet to be.” Imagine Christ saying these words to you! We believe that he does say them to us, again and again. For the 40 days of Lent, join us to experience Christ’s promise to be with us always, and abandon that difficult life for a “new me” in Christ.
